Class Level:
Student must be a junior or senior.
Academic Achievement:
CTVA Department - 3.5 grade point average in Cinema and Television Arts courses; overall University GPA may also be taken into consideration.
Area of Emphasis:
Student has demonstrated an outstanding classroom record in electronic media management courses. Student must have successfully completed CTVA 384 and 480 or an equivalent courses. Student has a professional goal of a career in the local television station area. Student must have demonstrated a serious interest in a career in local TV. Students who have completed or in the process of doing an internship at a local TV station are encouraged to apply.
Procedure for Student Applicants:
- Complete the Scholarship Application Form available online or in the CTVA Department (MZ 195).
- Submit a one page composition in which you discuss why you wish to work in local TV, the work you have already done in local TV, your employment goals over the next five years and your specialization in your work at CSUN.
- A Scholarship Letter of Recommendation must be provided by three individuals. One of the letters must be from a full-time faculty member in the CTVA Department. List the people you have contacted for a recommendation as your references on the applications. Those writing the letters will submit Letters of Recommendation under separate cover to the CTVA office..
